A Smooth Fair Hand

This poem was written by me in my college days ..... Recalling those days I felt putting it on my blog ! Enjoy an IITian single guy's thoughts .....

A SMOOTH FAIR HAND !!

There are some times, quite alone in moan

Roaming around the campus, reaping the seeds sown,
The seeds of my deeds, my past and ....
Waiting for a future, a Smooth Fair Hand.

Seem to be sunk in a thought deep

My mind still dark: no one can peep
I ask myself with no answer in the end!!
And the Question: 'Should I have a girlfriend?'

A girl with whom I may share thoughts,

To roam amongst lovely touch-me-nots,
Whose chirping be listening to nightingale's song
And eyes be oceans deep forever long.

"I with a constant smile on my face

The girl giggling with a gentle grace
The scenes of hilarity: a common sight,
It's only us: no left nor right."

My thought gets shattered when I recognise,

The reality of my life, the sorrowful rise,
And finally back to mournful work,
Consider myself a useless lurk.

Whenever do minors or majors appear close

A good performance is what I intend to pose
Reaching out for peace I seek the refuge;
Refuge our BOOK HOUSE : quite clean , zero refuse.

Be it the Library or the R2 small,

Be it the exuberant Exhibition Hall,
Quite difficult it becomes to concetrate on text,
When I find a couple sitting next....

With some success in hand I do console,

My throbbing heart and my desperate soul,
"Forget it today, 'cause I'll have it tomorrow,
A Smooth Fair Hand to kill my sorrow...."

But then I fall in the dilemma again

When the weather goes moist, the first monsoon rain,
A search for true love- A Smooth Fair Hand;
'Will I ever find my dear Friend in this land?'
